Does what is “most accurate” necessarily possess any absolute value? And, can this question be answered from what is of relative value?

Brandon, have you read “Jesus on Every Page”? I just got it and liked it but then I saw the author David Murray refers to the New Covenant as an administration of the Covenant of Grace. That doesn’t seem to square with Heb 8. What do you think? Does that affect how Mr Murray sees Jesus on every page in the OT?

    Like

    1. Hi Hardy, I have not read the book. Murray is a paedobaptist who subscribes to Westminster Federalism. I do not believe that is biblical. It will affect how he sees Jesus on every page. He will tend to flatten out typology and view Israel as the same as the church. He will tend to say that redemption from Egypt, rather than simply pointing towards redemption in Christ, was actually redemption in Christ – Israel as a people were redeemed in Christ. It will change the way he reads the obedience of Israel required in the Mosaic Covenant, and therefore how they related to Christ. I’m sure he still has many good things to say though.

    Hi Brandon,

I just realized that you had a webpage that is separate from the 1689federalism.com page. I have to say that I love the resources that you have put up here. It looks like I’ll be doing a lot of reading on this blog. Thanks again for your work.

Not sure who admins this site. You have an article titled “The False Gospel of Witness Lee and the Living Stream Ministries” and you have used my photo on the cover. I took that photo in 1986 and I own the negative. I’d appreciate you not using that on a site critical to the one person that I respect so much. It is offensive to me. Please respect me and Mr. Lee and remove that photo.

  5. Hi Brandon, Grace to you brother in the Lord,

I reply to your comments on LSM and witness Lee. I am a believer in the Lord Jesus as the Son of God, the angel of jehovah, and as Colossians 1.17 , I will say -breathes , “in him all things are held together- I believe this’Him; to certainly be Christ.

Knowing that Gods communication is a desire for us all to know the full knowledge of the truth, I will say that your blog is set not on expressing the truth but wrongly framing a vessel (witness lee) used by god as a heretical satanic.

Your evidence is actually working against you because from what I can discern is the statements from Witness Lee are correct in his enlightenment of Gods message

My true concern is that you have have clearly fabricated many things and twisted them into a quilt of confusion. That expression of your interpretations now become the heresy through the spirit in which your blog is written. That spirit, being of neurological feast upon the tree of knowledge will lead you directly into the hand of satan.
The divine nature of Gods word requires divine interpretation. Human interpretation will always stumble when confronted with the truth. The bible is written in a language of Gods nature. It may seem foreign to mayn’t when Gods spirit is applied , the door to heaven is open.
This spirit can only be Christ. It is been blasted through out the word that Christ is the son and only through Christ can we touch God.

Witness lee never claimed to be an apostle..

Witness lee spoke with an extrodinay ability from a man with chines as his first language . I would emphasise that his divine expression surpassed any evangacal of the modern era’

Your criticism of hank Hannagraph is seriously flawed.

hanks controversy comes from those he has exposed. and it would be conclusive to determine that perhaps you maybe one of those burnt by the edge of the two edged sword of truth?

It was some years ago your post was released, perhaps by now you are of a different opinion?

Gods grace to you, his peace be on your heart as you seek the the truth.

Hi Brandon, have you read the book “Covenant Theology: a reformed Baptist primer” by Douglas Van Dorn? I just got it, then went to see if you had reviewed it yet. I didn’t find it, but I would like your take on it.

    Like

    1. Hi Hardy,

I interviewed Van Dorn on this podcast about the book: http://confessingbaptist.com/interview083/

I also offer some brief qualifications here: http://www.1689federalism.com/covenant-theology-a-reformed-baptist-primer/

I haven’t done a full review of the book. I was intentionally not critical in the above comments & interview (because people were a little frustrated by my criticism of other 1689 Fed books like Johnsons’ so I was trying not to be overly critical), but there are many things in the book I don’t agree with (see above). It’s been a while since I’ve read it, but generally speaking it’s not something I recommend to people asking for where to start, though for those who have a grasp it’s worth chewing on.

Brandon, neither of those links worked for me. Could you provide me with another way to access your interviews with Van Dorn?

    1. You might give it another shot. They’re working for me and they’re on completely different sites, so if they’re both not working, it’s probably something on your end. I’m not sure of another way to access it.
